Jaclyn (Jax) Preciado is a dual-licensed special educator, storyteller, and advocate for empathy, creativity, and connection, dedicated to creating inclusive spaces. Grounded in Hawaiian epistemology, Jax believes in the transformative power of emotional connection and our kuleana to nurture the gifts (and futures) of those around us.

Her work centers on fostering belonging and creating spaces where every individual’s humanity is honored, their unique contributions are valued, and their voices are amplified. She hopes to inspire action in the next generation, empowering youth to recognize their ability to co-create meaningful change.

At Shanti Alliance, Jax collaborates with the Program Director on logistics and communication, contributing to conference planning, event registration, and website management. She also engages the community through social media, newsletters, and visual design, furthering the organization's mission of inclusivity and connection.

As a dual-licensed educator, Jax has experience teaching middle school inclusion across math, science, social studies, and English Language Arts. She earned a Master’s of Education in Teaching from the University of Hawai‘i, a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities—History, and a Certificate in Gender Studies from the University of Hawai‘i at West Oʻahu. Jax is also certified to teach secondary social studies and special education in Hawai‘i. An active member of the Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association, she has served as a school-level leader, advocating for educational equity and supporting her peers.

Jax envisions a more inclusive, peaceful future, believing that the actions we take together—no matter how small—collectively form the foundation of the futures we dream of. She finds joy in reading, writing, poetry, and roller skating, and is working toward her goal of getting her poetry published. She grounds her work in curiosity, creativity, and connection to inspire communities to co-create compassionate futures.
